This title is taken from the compilation French Songs And Choruses For Mixed-Voice Choir (NOV165198) Chanson Française belongs to Ravel's larger work entitled Chants Populaires. Except for the Chanson hébraïque, which was published separately in 1909, these song-settings were first published in a collection with harmonizations by three composers entitled Sept Chants Populaires by P. Jurgenson, Moscow, in 1910.
