In his Travel Notes Bennett takes us on a journey in the air and on the ground, reflected by the mood and titles of the four movements of the suite – In an air-balloon , In a helicopter , In a bath-chair and Car-chase . A master of film music, Bennett knows exactly how to paint a vivid image or scene solely with the help of instruments. This delightful piece of chamber music is originally scored for Woodwind quartet (Oboe, Flute, Bb Clarinet, Bassoon), however the Oboe part may be played on a 2nd Clarinet and the Bassoon part on a Violoncello. Duration: about 5 min., 45 sec. Sir Richard Rodney Bennett was an English composer of film, TV and concert music, and also a jazz pianist. He was based in New York City from 1979 until his death there in 2012. Bennett produced over two hundred works for the concert hall, and fifty scores for film and television.
