Recorded with her own orchestra, Control Booth Volume 1 (1940-1941) has just 10 songs, but 25 performances in total – 15 are alternative takes. This intriguing collection will please any collector - you can hear the slight differences in each track, particularly from the soloists. Every track is musically first-rate, with fine performances from Roy Eldridge, Benny Carter, Georgie Auld, Teddy Wilson, Lester Young , and of course, Billie Holiday herself.
