Microstyles is a collection of pieces for keyboard. Each one is written in a distinctive popular idiom to give pupils a taste of playing such styles as latin, reggae, jazz, rock and many others. Like Microjazz, the distinguished series by the same composer, Microstyles is equally suited to piano or electronic keyboard. (The addition of an electronic rhythm accompaniment adds an extra dimension to the music.) Fingering, pedalling and articulation are included, as are notes on the interpretation and origin of each style.
