Josef Gabriel Rheinberger's indisputable importance as a composer of sacred and secular choral music as well as organ music has for the most part obscured the remaining works of his creative output. At the same time there are a great many musical treasures among his piano music for two and four hands just waiting to be discovered. In this 10-CD collection the pianist Jürg Hanselmann presents the complete piano works of Rheinberger which have been assigned opus numbers. For piano four hand works he is aided by his spouse, Sandra Hanselmann-Kästli.
